TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR SMALL PET BOARDING JUNE 2022

Bookings, cancelations, and any amendments must be sent by email and not by text so that there is a paper trail and written notification which can easily be traced back.

I don't accept bedding/toys or equipment brought from home due to cross contamination.

The Terms and Conditions set out an agreement between ‘you’ the owner, and me Amanda ‘the Carer’.  Submission of a Booking will confirm the owner/s acceptance of these Terms and Conditions and their desire to progress with a Booking without needing a signature.

I am third party insured, hold a home boarding 5-star licence under Bracknell Forest and my pet first aid is in date.  There is no legal requirement to hold a licence for boarding small pets.

It is advisable that Rabbits are kept up to date with their vaccinations, this is not compulsory due to many rabbits have had bad reactions to the vaccinations so there is no need to bring evidence of this and is not compulsory under any licencing.  Parasite treatments must have been administered within the previous 4 weeks prior to boarding for both Guinea pigs and Rabbits.  If you have been unable to do this, you can bring the treatment with you for me to administer on your behalf during check in.

You further agree to deliver your pet in a clean and healthy condition.  I must be notified of any illness or injury which your pet has incurred prior to a board.

If you have a long-haired or thick coated breed, you must make sure your pet arrives with very little or no visible mats and a clean bottom.  I will then agree to maintain the condition of your pet’s fur, however I am not a qualified groomer and can only do my best depending on the temperament of your pet therefore I am not liable for any further matts developing during a board.

If you have struggled with grooming your pet and this is explained due to the temperament of your pet, I am more than happy to try and do this for you during your pets stay, again I may also not be able to achieve this, and a vet trip or qualified groomer may be needed on your return.

I am more than happy to trim your pets’ claws during their stay at no extra cost to the owner, I cannot guarantee this as it will depend on the temperament of your pet.

On check in if your pet appears ill, has open wounds, or deemed unfit to board you will be asked to take your pet to a vet & then re check in with a vet report, you will still be charged the daily rate during absence.  I have the right to refuse entry if I feel your pet could be at risk to cause illness to other boarding animals or deemed unfit to board.

If your pet becomes unwell or has an accident during the board, I will take her/him to a Veterinary Surgery, preferably your own registered one.  I am registered at Kynoch in Crowthorne to take boarding pets if it is an emergency and I am unable to make an appointment with your own vet or if it is too far away.  You agree to be responsible for payment of Veterinary fees incurred upon your return.  You will either reimburse me or pay the Veterinary Surgery directly. Although I make every effort to ensure your pet/s are cared for to my high standards I cannot be liable for loss, injury, or death and the board is at your own risk.

There may be an occasion where your pet has either been in an accident or become so ill that the vet is unable to treat your pets needs and is in her/his opinion the only outcome is euthinisation, you will be immediately informed and may be required to speak to the vet directly.

In the event of a death during the board, I am unable to hold your deceased pet here due to not having the facilities, I am not allowed to as I have other members of the public visiting here and other living animals residing here.  I would need council approved mortuary facilities.  I am also not allowed to bury your pet here for the same reasons so please do not ask.

You will be notified immediately of your pets’ departure.  In any event I am not able to hold a deceased animal and will be either transferred to your named vet surgery who may want to transfer to a pet mortuary which you will be informed of at the time if you wish to.  You agree to cover the cost of this incurred on your return or at the time.  Alternatively, I can dispose of the body in a safe way at no cost to you.

In any event of any emergency if myself the carer is unable to proceed with the board; I will endeavour to transfer the board to your emergency contact provider.  Otherwise, they will be cared for by my named emergency provider. Of either Stephen Dresou (husband) or Jackie Dresou (mother-in-law).

You agree to check your pet in & out at the agreed times, if you are late or early this can cause disruption to other people, however if you are going to be late due to unforeseen circumstances, please let me know in advance whenever possible.

I supply a variety of dry kibble which is included in the price, dry food and water is always available for your pet/s.  You may bring your own food if you prefer or if your pet is on a special diet, there is no reduction in boarding fees if you choose to.

Due to the cost of fresh vegetables and Salad items continuing to increase and you wish your pet to be given such items during their stay if you are able, please bring the quantity of the amount you think that your pet will consume for the duration of their stay.

Garden vegetation such as dandelions are also welcomed if they have been previously washed.

This will not go off as it is placed in date order in a pet fridge and shared out in date order amongst all our boarding vegetable and salad eaters.  Your welcomed to bring any left-over vegetables or salad which would be normally thrown out prior to your holiday even if your own pet doesn’t normally eat it as there will be other pets here that will.  This will keep the cost of boarding your pet down.

You're welcome to bring your own food if your Pet is either very fussy or on a special diet, I feed either Burgess/Select/pets at home pellets a variety of different hays every day and kale/dark greens, the occasional carrot, or apples as treats. A contribution of veg is required.

I do not except any hay of any description due to the risk of spreading hay mites.

I do not except bedding, toys or any equipment brought from home as this may cause cross contamination.  If insisted that any equipment is brought from home it is at the owner’s risk, and I am not liable for any damage incurred to the equipment.  It may be returned to you damaged or soiled or I may have needed to discard it which I am also not liable for the cost to you incurred.  It is also your responsibility to take it away with you, I am not responsible for returning it to you.

Terms of payment

I accept either cash on drop off or via bank transfer prior to the board start.

If you collect your pets between 3 pm and 7 pm there is an extra charge as I am responsible for your pet during the day.

If you collect your pet before 12 pm there is no charge for that day.

If you return early from your holiday and wish to collect your pet, you can do so however there will be no refund.
